Kannada Pusthaka Pradhikara, Bangalore and Govinda Dasa College Library, Surathkal jointly organised one day workshop on “Nanna Mechina Pusthaka – Vidyartigala Abhipraya Mandane Sparde held on 23.12.2019 at 9.30am in Govinda Dasa College Library.
Prof. Ramesh Kulai, Director Administration Govinda Dasa College and Vice Principal Prof. P. Krishnamurthy, were the guests for the programme and Sri. Lakshmi Narayana Rao, News Reporter and News anchor of Namma TV, Mangalore inaugurated by lighting the lamp and gave a talk on importance of library and about reading habit.
Dr. K Shivashankar Bhat, Principal, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal gave the presidential remark.
Prof Ramesh Kulai, Director Administration, Govinda Dasa College in his talk described the present importance of reading books and Vice Principal Prof. P. Krishnamurthy told that students should utilize the library books which are currently more than 49000.
We conducted competitions for PU Students in Kannada Language, UG Students in Kannada, English, Hindi, Tulu and Sanskrit Languages and PG Students in Kannada and English Languages. More than 45 students participated in this competition.
Smt. Kalavathi Rao, Writer and Retired Teacher, Lft. Sudha U, Writer, K. Krishnamurthy, Writer and Publishers and Kum. Shwetha Lecturer in Journalism were judges for Kannada and Tulu Languages.
Smt. Daya Suvarna, Lecturer in Economics, Kum. Shree Raksha, Lecturer in English, Kum. Jyothi Kamath, Lecturer in Hindi, Kum. Poornima Gokhale, Lecturer in Computer Science were judges for English, Tulu and Sanskrit Languages.
Smt. Savithri A Librian welcomed the gathering, Ananya, Sharanya,and Shamanvitha members of Jaana Jaaneyar Balagarendred by the prayer. Library Staff Mr. Chandrashekar K introduced the judeges, II B.Sc Student Samanvitha proposed the vote of thanks. Kusuma II B.Sc wasd Master of Ceremony.
