National Youth Day is observed in India on January 12 on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. In 1984 the Government of India declared the day as the ‘National Youth Day’ and since 1985 the event is celebrated in India every year. Swami Vivekananda was a great person who always believed in the youth power to lead and nourish the historical culture of the country. Philosophies, teachings and ideas of Swami Vivekananda are the great cultural and traditional assets of India. Youth is the most important part of the country who lead the country ahead, that’s why youths are selected to be inspired first by the ideas and ideals of Swami Vivekananda.
