National Conference on Climate Change and Agriculture: Impacts, Adaptation and Mitigation-2021

Department of Chemistry and Karnataka Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka organized 4th National Conference on Climate change and agriculture: Impacts, adaptation and mitigation (NCCCAIAM-2021) under the auspices of Vineeth Chemicals, Mumbai and MRPL & MCF, Mangalore. On this special event, we had with us Sri E Janardhan, President, H.V. Sangha, Surathkal and former deputy director, VSSC, ISRO; Chief Guest, Mr. Kiran Kumar Kodgi, Honorable Vice–President, State food and civil supplies corporation, Government of Karnataka; Guest of honor, Dr Prathibha Rohith, Principal scientist and SIC, Mangalore regional centre  of ICAR CMFRI ; Principal Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, Prof. P Krishnamurthy; Mr. Venkat Rao, secretary, H. V. Sangha, Surathkal.

We also had with us Chairman of the conference, Dr Sharatha Kumar, HOD Chemistry PG and Convener of the conference Sri Neelappa V, HOD Chemistry UG. There was felicitation to marine geologist Prof. Gangadhar Bhat. Key note address was by Prof. M.B.Rajegowda, Ph.D., an Agromet Scientist and a former Registrar, Plenary session 1was by Dr. Chaithanya D. Jain, scientist at NARL, India. Plenary session 2 was by Dr. Rajesh K. M, scientist at ICAR, CMFTRI, Mangalore on impact of climate change on marine fisheries. Plenary session 3 was by Dr. S Shridhar from Agricultural University, Shivamogga on climate change: impacts on agriculture and mitigation options. More than 60 research papers were presented. Approximately, 150 participants were there.
