On 10th June, 2022 an Inaugural function of Certificate, Diploma ,Advanced Diploma Course in Yakshagana , Music & Theatre was organised by Kalaabdhi at 2.30.p.m in A.V.Hall. Prof.Ramesh Bhat gave away the introductory remarks. Shri. H. Shriranga , Secretary , H.V.Sanga®, Surathkal, Sri Ramesh Rao M , President , GDCAA & Ms. Laxmi P, Principal , GDPU College, Surathkal were the Chief guests of the Programme .
Ms. Veena Shetty , General Manager, MRPL & Alumni of GDC, was the Inaugurator of the function, who inaugurated the course through lightening the lamp. Ms. Veena Shetty shared her old memories in GDC and also was happy to see the achievements of GDC in finearts field over the years. This course is a 3 year course , just a replica of NEP System, where after completion of 1st year student will complete certificate course (60 Hours) . In completion of 2nd year , he will be eligible for Diploma certificate (120 hours) & after completion of 3rd year student will be eligible for Advanced Diploma Certificate (180 hours).
Mrs. Poornima Yatish Rai (Ex-GDcian)& a popular yakshagana Artist will train Yakshagana Students , Mr. Jagan Pawar , Theatre artist will be incharge of Theatre & Ms. Bhanumathi Narayana Hegde will be incharge of Music classes. These courses is made available to GDC Degree, PU & to the general public with the objective to nurture & promote rural talents.
Prof. Krishnamoorthy P, Principal , Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal was the President of the programme. Ms. Lavanya – II BBA Mastered the Ceremony & Ms. Prateeksha – III B.Com proposed the vote of Thanks .
