The programme ‘Innovatia 2023-24’ was organized by the Department of Commerce & Business Administration on 19th December 2023 at Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal. This is programme where students will get an opportunity to showcase their talents through new product development and marketing of those products.
The programme was inaugurated by Smt. Lakshmi P, Principal, GD Pre-University College, Surathkal and said that more opportunities are available in the professional sector for the students of commerce and they should focus on skill development.
In the inaugural speech the chief guest of the programme Prof. Y.V Ratnakara Rao said, in the current educational system creative innovations are highly prioritized and students should expand their knowledge horizons with new innovations.
Principal Prof P. Krishnamurthy presided the programme. Prof. Ramesh Kulai, Administrative Director, Govinda Dasa College and Prof. Ramesh Bhat S.G., Vice Principal and Student Welfare Officer wished the faculties and students of the department. Mr. Prajwal, the marketing lead of the Microdegree Institute was the resource person.
Mr. Harish Acharya P., Coordinator of IQAC, Head of Commerce Department Dr. Sowmya Praveen K., Ms. Sridevi, HOD of Business Administration, Dr. Bhagyalaxmi M, and Mrs. Shilparani K, Coordinators of Commerce and Business Administration Association, Ms. Punitha R., Coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Dr. Ganesh Acharya B, Coordinator of Post Graduate Studies in Commerce, Mr. Dhanyakumar Venkannavar, and Ms. Prakruthi, Ms. Apeksha faculties of Commerce and Business Administration, Dr. Prashanth M.D., Physical Director, Mrs. Bharathi, Mrs. Harsharani, and Mrs. Deeksha faculties of PG Studies in Commerce and students of UG and PG were present. Poorvi Ashok Kumar of final BBA narrated the programme.
Exhibition of new products made by students was held. Group of students from B.Com and BBA produced the new products that includes market feasibility and the same products were demonstrated in the exhibition. The programme was continued by the orientation on ‘Career Building’ to the second PUC students of nearby colleges in the AV hall by the resource person Mr. Prajwal. Entrepreneurship Development cell had conducted the competition on the new products and was judged by the resource person.
