Department of Commerce of Govinda Dasa College was founded simultaneously with inception of the College .i.e., 1967.
We, the Department of Commerce, consist of a bunch of seven dedicated young, energetic & enthusiastic faculty who as a team, strive untiringly for the benefit and betterment of our college and our students. All the faculty of Commerce Department actively participate in all the activities and shoulder the responsibilities of our associated associations as well. Keeping in mind our main Motto .i.e., “ Perfection , Dedication and Commitment” we strive hard to achieve it under all circumstances.
The Brand-Image of Commerce Department is the result of the combined efforts of students and faculty of our department. Our students are our real strength and Brand Ambassadors of our department , who have always channelized their energy to uphold the flag of GDC to a new heights.
We, the faculty of Department of Commerce, besides sharing highest standards of Teacher- student relation, are also Mentors, Guides and a Well- wishers. In our department, study is made more interesting by conducting various activities. To bridge the gap between theory and its practicality students are given various practical assignments related to New Product development, Banking, Stock exchange , auditing, Mutual Funds, etc and also guest lectures of various resource persons are arranged. To keep students abreast of the changing Industrial pace, annual Industrial visits are organised to various leading establishments of the region, such as KIOCL ,BASF, CAMPCO, etc.
Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) is a course of 3 year program consisting a total of 6 Semester. Currently, we have 2 batches of 1st , 2nd & 3rd Year B.Com each offering Taxation as a specialization subject.
Department of Commerce claims 50% of the strength of the college. In the history of 5 decades, Commerce department has successfully grabbed 50% of the total ranks earned by the college. Today, it gives us immense pleasure to spot our students across length & breadth of the world occupying key positions in Multi-national companies.
Objectives of Department of Commerce:
