Department of History one of the first departments created at GDC, having completed 50 years successfully.
Students having studied history from our department have excelled and shined in various streams like politics, administrative services, police forces, journalism, social service etc. These students have added a feather to the cap of Govinda Dasa College.
Prof Koosa Moily and Prof.Hilda Miranda were the teachers who taught history right from the inception till 1992. From 1992 Prof. Violet Miranda is heading the department of history.
