On the occasion of World Book Day, the Department of Library and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Govinda Dasa College jointly organized a program under the Pusthaka Preethi Parichaya Series on 23rd April 2025. The program aimed to foster a love for reading among students and encourage intellectual engagement through book discussions.
As part of the program, Ms. Hanumavva Lakshmana Madara, a student of I B.A., presented a thoughtful review of the renowned Kannada literary work Beralge Koral by Kuvempu. Her insightful analysis captivated the audience and reflected the spirit of literary appreciation promoted by the series.
The program was graced by the presence of the Principal, Prof. Hareesha Acharya P, who addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of cultivating a consistent reading habit, especially among the youth. He emphasized how reading not only enhances knowledge but also shapes critical thinking and empathy.
The program was joined by faculty members Dr. Vijayalaxmi, Dr. Ashalatha P, Ms. Daya Suvarna, and Mr. Vinodu Shetty, along with Librarian Dr. Sujatha B. and a large number of enthusiastic students.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by Ms. Nagarathna, also a student of I B.A., who later proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all attendees and contributors for making the program success.
