CS Orientation Programme Report

The Department of Commerce and Business Administration Association of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, organized a CS Orientation Programme on 18th October at 11:30 a.m. The event began with a warm welcome address by Rachana of II BBA, followed by the introduction of the guest by Ridha of II BBA.

The resource person, CS Shankar B., Administrative Officer of ICSI, delivered an insightful and informative talk, providing an overview of the Company Secretary (CS) course and its relevance in the professional field. He discussed the importance of the course, its structure, and its potential career opportunities, inspiring the students to consider CS as a promising career path.

Following this, Dr. Sowmya Praveen addressed the gathering, appreciating the initiative and highlighting the significance of such orientation programmes in guiding students toward professional excellence. The event was also graced by the presence of the Head of the Department of Commerce and Business Administration. The session concluded on an inspiring note, leaving students highly motivated and encouraged.

A special session on the Company Secretary course was also conducted to provide students with a deeper understanding of its scope and opportunities. The session, organized for degree students, witnessed the participation of respected dignitaries, faculty members, and students. CS Santhosh Prabhu addressed the gathering and elaborated on the eligibility criteria, syllabus, fee structure, and career prospects of the course. He also discussed the challenges, expectations, and strategies for achieving success in the CS profession.

Highlighting the flexibility of the programme, he mentioned that students could pursue the CS course alongside their degree studies, with classes being conducted online or offline, including during holidays, ensuring that it would not interfere with regular academics.

As a token of appreciation, mementos were presented to the guests by the Student Welfare Officer and the Heads of the Departments of Commerce and Business Administration.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Kushi of III BBA, who extended her gratitude to the resource persons, faculty members, and the organizing committee for their dedicated efforts and support. She also expressed appreciation to the students for their enthusiastic participation, which contributed to the overall success of the programme. Her words of gratitude brought the event to a graceful close, leaving everyone inspired and enriched by the session.
