“Swara Sangama 2022” an Inter-Collegiate Two – days Music Competition was organised by Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal and the Directorate of Student Welfare, Mangalore University, MangalaGangotri.
On 12th August 2022, the Inaugural Ceremony was conducted at 9.30 .a.m in the Rangamandira by lightening the lamp .Ms. Rashmi J Anchan –III B.Com was the Master of Ceremony . Dr.Kishore Kumar C K, Registrar ,Mangalore University was the Inaugurator &Mr. E Janardhan, President, H.V.Sanga ; Prof. Ramesh Kulai , Director – Administration,GDC, Surthakal & Mr. M Ramesh Rao, President , Alumni Association , GDC, Surathkal was the Chief Guest of the programme. Prof.Ramesh Bhat welcomed the gathering & introduced the guest of honour. Dr.Kishore Kumar C K, Registrar, Mangalore University gave the Introductory remarks. Mr. Vishanath, Assisatant Professor, the observer of the programme was present on the dais .
Prof. P Krishnamoorthy , Principal, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal presented his presidential remarks. Mrs. Vijayalaxmi Nayak proposed the vote of thanks.
Swara Sangama consists of 9 events in total .On the 1st day of the programme i.e., 12.8.2022 Western Vocal Solo , Classical Vocal Solo , Patriotic & folk Group singing, Classical Instrumental ( Percussion ), Classical Instrumental ( Non- Percussion ) & on the 2nd day .i.e., 13.8.2022 Folk orcheshtra ,Light vocal solo Indian, Western Group singing & Western Instrumental was conducted simultaneously in various stages.
The prize distribution ceremony was held on 13.08.2022 at 3.30 p.m in Rangamandira. Mrs. Sudha Shetty Mastered the Ceremony. Mr. H Shriranga, Secretary, H V Sanga®, Surathkal & Prof. Ramesh Kulai , Director – Administrator, GDC , Surathkal were the Chief Guest of the Programme. Dr. Kishori Nayak K , D.S.W, Mangalore University gave the Valedictory remarks. Prof. Ramesh Bhat, S.W.O & Co-ordinator of Fine Arts proposed the vote of thanks. .The Valedictory function was followed by Prize Distribution which was given away by Mr. Mahesh Kumar, ACP, North Sub-division, Mangalore . Alvas Degree College, Moodabidri emergered as the Overall Winners & Vivekananda College, Puttur took away the overall runners trophy.
Our college Music team had also participated in the same and Mr. Shramith – II BCA bagged 3rd place in Instrumental (Percussion ) Solo & our proud folk orchestra team 1st place and are qualified for South Zone level competition.
