Acknowledging the importance of having an addiction free society, the United Nations decided to observe 26th June as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. This was an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.
IQAC and NSS , Govinda Dasa College in association with Jana Jagarathi Vedike Mangaluru jointly organised a program on “Addiction free youth and a healthy Society” on 26th June 2023 at the A.V Hall. The resource Person was Shri Ganesh Acharya Planning Officer,Jana Jagarathi Vedike, Udupi Region. The guests of honour were Prof Ramesh Kulai,Director Administration, Govinda Dasa College Surathkal, Shri Channakeshava, Planning Officer Grama Abhiruddi yojana,B.C Trust (R) Mangaluru. Shri ShankaraNarayana,Retired Officer, New Mangalore port trust and Yakshagana guru. Prof P Krishnamoorthi , Principal of the college was the president of the program. NSS Program Officer, Smt Akshatha V, NSS Program Officer was present. Shama Farahana, NSS Volunteer welcomed the gathering . NSS Volunteers Swathi Bhat,Prayag, Smitha and Preethi were present on the occassion.
