Department of History organized State Level Workshop “ An Overview of Syllabus of History as per NEP 2020” for History Teachers on 18-03-2024 at A. V Hall, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal. Shri Sriranga H, Secretary of Hindu Vidyadayini Sangha , Surathkal, Inaugurated the workshop. Dr. Jayaram Shettigar, President of Manusha delivered introductory remark .Prof. Krisnamoorthy , Principal Govinda Dasa College preside over the inauguration ceremony. Director administrator , Prof. Ramesh Kulai, Prof. Ganesh Pai, President of AMUCT, Dr. Naveen Konaje, secretary of MANUSHA, Prof. Major. Dr. Raghava, Principal, Field Marshal Cariappa College, Madikeri, Rashmi Kayaramar, all Office bearers and members of MANUSHA were present. Prof. Dr. Vijayalaxmi Co-ordinator of the Workshop welcomed the gathering , Hareesh Acharya, IQAC co-ordinator, proposed Vote of Thanks and Capt. Dr. Sudha was the Master of Ceremony.
The valedictory ceremony was heldin the evening. Dr. Jayaram Shettigar, president Of MANUSHA, Dr. Naveen Konaje, Secretary of MANUSHA, Dr. Gururaj Prabhu, Treasurer, MANUSHA , Prof Dr. Major Raghava, Joint secretaries of Manusha Mrs. Padmashree, and Mrs. Sunitha were chief guests. Principal presided the valedictory ceremony. Prof. Haresh Acharya was present.
The Workshop was arranged with the purpose of providing idea and knowledge on the new History syllabus introduced for VI semester under NEP 2020. It was attended by 50 delegates and around 15 members presented papers related to the different topics from the history syllabus. Thus it helped the teachers to get a clear picture of the contents need to be taught and discussed in the classroom and the students also provided with question bank.
