The NSS unit of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, in association with the Rotaract Club of the college, organized a beach cleaning program as part of the project ‘DIVYAS.’
Sanctioned by Mangalore University, the project ‘DIVYAS’ involves a structured curriculum designed to instill approximately 90 positive values while eliminating around 70 negative traits in individuals and society. Aligned with the principles of Integral Yoga and the ethos of ‘Seva Manobhava’ (Service), DIVYAS, an NGO under Integral Yoga Satsanga since 1989, diligently promotes values, a service-oriented mindset, and yoga awareness among youth. The initiative unfolds in five rounds.
Pallavi of III B.Com has participated in this project and cleared the first four rounds of the competition. In the fifth round, ‘Seva Project implementation,’ Pallavi organized a beach cleaning activity at NITK.
To support the ‘Seva Project implementation,’ volunteers from the NSS and Rotaract Club participated in the beach cleaning program at NITK. This practical effort, led by Mr. K.K. Poojary, demonstrated the real-world application of the values learned through DIVYAS. NSS programme officers Dr. Bhagyalaxmi M. and Mrs. Akshatha Shetty, along with Principal Prof. P. Krishnamoorthy were also accompanied in organizing this activity.
