Books and Racks Donation Program will be held on 06 .05.2025

The S.R. Hegde Charitable Trust, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Library, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, organized a book donation programme aimed at enriching the academic resources of the college.

As part of this noble initiative, the Trust generously donated 534 books worth of 60,000, along with open racks worth of 30,000 for the college library.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Indira Hegde, President of the S.R. Hegde Charitable Trust, addressed the gathering and encouraged students to cultivate a habit of reading and to pursue higher education with dedication. On behalf of the college, Dr. Indira Hegde was felicitated in recognition of her contributions.

The programme was presided over by Prof. Hareesh Ancharya P., Principal of the college. In his address, he urged students to make effective use of the newly added library resources, emphasizing that consistent reading is essential for success in life.

Dr. Jyothi Chelaru, Treasurer of the Trust, delivered the welcome address and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to the academic growth of the institution.

Dr. Vijayalakshmi, Head of the Department of History, highlighted the value of the donated books and explained how they would benefit both students and faculty members.

Miss Megha, a student of III B.A., gave a brief presentation on the accomplishments of Dr. Indira Hegde, appreciating her literary contributions and social service.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sujatha B, Librarian. The Programme was effectively coordinated by Prof. Neelappa V, Vice-Principal and IQAC Coordinator. Heads of various departments, faculty members, and students were present and appreciated the initiative.

The Master of Ceremonies for the programme was Dr. Santhosh Alva, Head of the Department of Kannada.
