The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, organized an orientation session on 16th June 2025 at 4:00 PM in the AV Hall, in collaboration with UNNATI Foundation, Bengaluru. The event was coordinated by Ms. Punitha R, Lecturer, Department of Commerce & Business Administration.
The session was conducted by Ms. Nirmala, a professional trainer from UNNATI Foundation. The foundation, established in 2011, works with the motto “LEARN, EARN & STAND TALL” and is committed to empowering students by enhancing their employability skills through its flagship course, the UNXT Program.
Ms. Nirmala introduced the students of final year B.Com, BBA, and BA to the various aspects of the UNXT Program, which is a 30-day intensive training initiative. The training includes modules such as:
- Communication Skills
- Confidence Building
- Interview Skills
- Work Environment Readiness
- Personality Development
The sessions are held for 3 hours each day, and continuous participation is encouraged for maximum benefit. A special feature of the program is the U-LEAPP, a self-learning E-learning application, which allows students to learn and revise independently.
Ms. Nirmala highlighted that there are no exams, and certificates will be issued upon completion of the course, sent directly to the students’ email addresses. The most significant benefit shared was access to the “Udhyogam Portal”, a job enrollment platform where students can upload their resumes, certificates, and even a video resume. This portal, sponsored by Infosys and other corporate partners, enables direct interaction between recruiters and students, thus enhancing job opportunities.
The session received enthusiastic participation and appreciation from students, who showed keen interest in enrolling for the program. The orientation concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students clarified their doubts regarding course modules and future job opportunities.
