Gandhi Jayanthi was celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm at Govinda Dasa College on 2nd October, 2025 organized by the NSS units. The event commenced with a campus cleaning drive in the morning, where NSS volunteers actively participated, reflecting the values of cleanliness and service promoted by Mahatma Gandhi.
The formal program began with a welcome address by Mrs. Akshatha V, NSS Programme Officer. The Chief Guest for the occasion, Sri. Shrikanth Shetty B, delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the life and principles of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, both of whom share the birth anniversary on this day. He emphasized the relevance of their ideals in today’s world and encouraged students to follow the path of truth, simplicity, and patriotism.
The college Principal, Prof. Harish Acharya P., graced the occasion and shared his thoughts on the importance of commemorating national leaders who shaped the country’s future through their selfless efforts.
Dr. Bhagyalaxmi M. delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, volunteers, and participants for making the event a success. The event was compered by Supreeth, NSS Secretary, who conducted the proceedings efficiently.
The celebration concluded with a collective pledge to uphold the values of Mahatma Gandhi and contribute positively to society.
