Report on ACCA Orientation Programme
The Department of Commerce and Business Administration, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, organized an ACCA Orientation Programme on 2nd June 2026 at 10:00 AM. The programme was conducted to create awareness among students about the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification and the career opportunities available in the field of accounting and finance.
The programme commenced with an invocation and a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Sowmya Praveen K., SWO and Head of the Department of Commerce. She welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students and highlighted the significance of professional qualifications in today’s competitive business environment.
The programme was presided over by Prof. Neelappa V., Vice Principal. Ms. Daphney Marita Sequeira, Mangalore Branch Manager of MyLogic, graced the occasion with her presence, while Mr. Mohammed Sadiq, ACCA Faculty, served as the resource person for the programme.
In his presidential address, Prof. Neelappa V. encouraged students to explore globally recognized professional courses and emphasized the importance of continuous learning and skill development for career advancement.
Mr. Mohammed Sadiq delivered an insightful session on the ACCA qualification. He explained the course structure, examination pattern, eligibility criteria, exemptions, and career opportunities available to ACCA graduates. He also highlighted the global recognition of ACCA and its relevance in the fields of accounting, auditing, taxation, finance, and business management. The session was interactive, and students actively participated by raising questions and clarifying their doubts.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Daphney Marita Sequeira shared valuable insights about the growing demand for globally qualified finance professionals and encouraged students to pursue professional certifications alongside their academic studies.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students of the Department of Commerce and Business Administration. The orientation programme proved to be highly informative and beneficial, helping students gain a comprehensive understanding of ACCA and the diverse career opportunities associated with the qualification.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Dhanyakumar Venkannavar, IQAC Coordinator, who expressed his gratitude to the dignitaries, resource person, faculty members, students, and organizers for their valuable support and participation in making the programme a grand success.
