NSS volunteers of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal participated in the “Sakhi Samvada” Workshop organized by Yuva Vahini (Regd.), Kolya Unit, Someshwara, in collaboration with Mangalore University, on the occasion of World Women’s Day on 14 March 2026 at the Town Hall, Mangalore.
The workshop provided an interactive platform for college students to engage with a panel comprising police officers, lawyers, psychiatrists, and education experts. The resource persons addressed a wide range of questions related to women’s safety, legal rights, mental health, education, and personal empowerment, offering practical guidance and valuable insights.
The participating NSS volunteers actively took part in the interaction and gained a better understanding of issues concerning women’s welfare and gender equality. Certificates were awarded to all participants, while a special prize was presented to the student who posed the best question, as selected by the judges.
The programme successfully promoted awareness, confidence, and social responsibility among the volunteers, encouraging them to become advocates for women’s empowerment and equality in society.
