NSS volunteers of Govinda Dasa College participated in the District-Level Unity March (Padyatra) organized in Dakshina Kannada on 10th November 2025 to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The event was conducted as part of the nationwide campaign “Unity March – Ek Bharat, Aatmanirbhar Bharat”, initiated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
The Unity March commenced at 8:30 a.m. from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Circle, Jyothi, and concluded at Town Hall, Mangaluru. The march aimed to promote the values of national unity, integrity, and self-reliance, reflecting the vision and ideals of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Hundreds of participants, including NSS volunteers, students, and members of the public, took part in the padyatra, carrying the National Flag and raising slogans that emphasized unity and national integration. The event also paid tribute to Sardar Patel’s invaluable contribution to the integration of the princely states and the unification of independent India.
The participation of the NSS volunteers in the Unity March reinforced their commitment to the ideals of patriotism, social harmony, and national integration, inspiring them to contribute towards building a united and self-reliant nation.
