Govinda Dasa College Library and IQAC jointly organized Librarian’s day on 12th of August 2025, on the occasion of 133rd Birth Anniversary of Padmashree Dr S.R. Ranganathan, Father of Library Science.
As part of the celebration, Book Review Programme was organised . Dr. Santhosh Alva, HOD, Department of Kannada, reviewed the book “Haseena Mattu ithara kathegalu” written by Banu Mushthak, recipient of the International Booker Award for her work Heart’s Lamp. In his review, Dr. Santhosh Alva Discussed the key contents of the book and encouraged the audience to read the it in full book.
President of the function Principal of the college Prof.Hareesh Acharya P, in his presidential address stressed on the fact that students should make use of the library ,urged them to develop the habit of reading and encouraged regular visit to the library.
Govinda Dasa College Vice principal/ IQAC coordinator Prof. Neelappa V, Student welfare officer Dr. Sowmya Praveen K. HOD’S of various departments, Faculty and Non-teaching staffs were present.
Dr. Sujatha.B Librarian welcomed the gathering and spoke about Dr. S.R Ranganathan’s contribution to the library Science. Ananya (I B.Sc). Student proposed the vote of thanks, Dhanya (III B.Com) served as the Master of Ceremony.
