“The Power of Commerce, The Spirit of Business.”- The Inauguration OF Commerce and Business Administration Association and ED Cell [2025-26]

The Commerce and Business Administration Association of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal organized its Inauguration Programme on 22nd September 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the college premises. The event marked the beginning of the association’s academic activities for the year and was conducted with great enthusiasm and participation from faculty members and students.

The programme began with the arrival of the dignitaries, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, which symbolized knowledge, growth, and enlightenment. The inauguration was carried out by Dr. Yathish Kumar, along with the Chief Guest, Mr. Ramesh Bhat, in the presence of the Principal, faculty members, and students.

The formal proceedings started with a welcome address delivered by Ms. Sushmitha of III BBA, who extended a warm greeting to the guests, faculty, and students, setting a cordial tone for the event. This was followed by Ms. Bhoomika of III B.Com, who presented a brief yet insightful introduction of the guests, highlighting their achievements and contributions.

The inaugural session featured a guest talk by Dr. Yathish Kumar, who enlightened the gathering about the importance of Commerce and Business Administration in students’ lives. He stressed the need for a strong academic foundation combined with practical knowledge to achieve career growth. His address inspired the students to take proactive steps in their academic journey and emphasized the role of discipline, leadership, and continuous learning in shaping a successful future.

As part of the programme, the Chief Guest and other Dignitaries presided over a felicitation ceremony to honor the academic achievers, Ms. Uthsavi V. Kotian and Ms. Spoorthi, together with the CMA toppers, Mr. Abhishek and Mr. Sumath Bhat, who are also distinguished alumni of the institution. The ceremony acknowledged their accomplishments and highlighted the commitment of the college towards recognizing merit and encouraging excellence. This segment of the event not only brought pride to the institution but also served as a motivating factor for the present batch of students to emulate the success of their seniors and strive for higher academic and professional goals.

Following this, the Chief Guest, Mr. Ramesh Bhat, delivered his address, focusing on the Entrepreneurship Development (ED) Cell. He explained how entrepreneurship plays a crucial role in the current economic scenario and encouraged students to make use of opportunities provided by the ED Cell. His words motivated students to think innovatively, take initiative, and develop entrepreneurial skills to contribute to society and industry.

The Principal, Prof. Hareesh Acharya, then delivered the presidential remarks, appreciating the efforts of the association in organizing such a meaningful event. He emphasized the significance of associations like these in providing students with a platform to develop their academic, managerial, and interpersonal skills beyond classroom learning. His words encouraged the students to actively engage in all upcoming activities of the association.

As a token of respect and gratitude, a memento was presented to the inaugurator, Dr. Yathish Kumar, by the Principal, Prof. Hareesh Acharya. This gesture reflected the college’s appreciation for his valuable time and contribution to the event.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Kushi of III BBA, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, and students for making the event a success.

The inauguration ceremony of the Commerce and Business Administration Association was not only a formal beginning of the year’s activities but also a motivating platform that encouraged students to embrace knowledge, skill development, and leadership qualities.
