The NSS unit of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, organized an Orientation Programme on 3rd September 2025 for the newly enrolled NSS volunteers from the first-year degree courses for the academic year 2025–26.
Sri Venkatramana Paika, Lecturer at Govinda Dasa PU College, Surathkal, was the chief guest and resource person for the event. In his address, he emphasized the vital role of the NSS in society, stating that its core objective is to develop students’ personalities through community service. He described NSS as a voluntary organization of youth from colleges and universities, committed to social responsibility and civic engagement. He also elaborated on the NSS motto, its emblem, and its mission to build a strong connection between the campus and the wider community. Prof. Harish Achary P., Principal of the college, presided over the programme and highlighted the importance of social service and the proactive involvement of youth in nation-building.
The programme concluded on a positive note with a formal vote of thanks, expressing appreciation for the enthusiastic participation of all present, and setting the tone for another meaningful and service-driven academic year.
