On September 19, 2025, the Basava Sanskriti Abhiyan was organized in Mangalore as part of a state-wide campaign to promote the values and teachings of the 12th-century social reformer, Basavanna. NSS volunteers from Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, actively participated in this significant event, which took place at Tulu Bhavan, Urvastore. The district-level seminar and cultural program brought together a diverse gathering of students, scholars, and spiritual leaders, including several respected seers, who shared their insights and reflections on Basavanna’s enduring philosophy.
The program was not only educational but also deeply inspiring, focusing on key principles such as social equality, gender justice, and inclusive welfare. Through engaging discussions and cultural performances, participants explored how Basavanna’s teachings remain relevant in today’s society, especially in the context of youth involvement in building a just and equitable nation.
The active involvement of the NSS volunteers highlighted their commitment to promoting ethical values and social awareness, aligning with the mission of the Basava Sanskriti Abhiyan to cultivate a more compassionate and egalitarian society.
