The One-Day Project Workshop titled “Build, Apply, and Deliver” was successfully organized by the Department of PG Studies in Commerce at Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal. The programme was conducted with the objective of guiding students on building project ideas with clarity, applying knowledge with confidence, and delivering academic work with excellence.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Prathiksha Mendon of 2nd M.Com. The workshop commenced with a prayer led by Ms. Sinchana and team of 1st M.Com, invoking divine blessings for the smooth conduct of the workshop. The Coordinator of P.G. Studies in commerce Dr. Ganesh Achaarya formally introduced the programme and highlighted the purpose of organizing the workshop in the context of recent academic trends and research requirements.The President of the programme, Prof. Hareesha Acharya P, Principal of Govinda Dasa College,was cordially welcomed for his visionary leadership and constant encouragement toward academic excellence.
The Inaugurator, Dr. Vijaya V, Principal of Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple First Grade College, was warmly received and thanked for gracing the occasion. The Chief Guest, Sri Shreeranga H, Secretary of Hindu Vidyadayinee Sangha, was honored and welcomed for his valuable presence and guidance. Prof. Ramesh Bhat S G, Director-Administration of Govinda Dasa College and Govinda Dasa PU College, was also welcomed with great respect.Dr. Ganesh Acharya B, Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies in Commerce and Chemistry, was acknowledged for his dedicated efforts in organizing academic initiatives. Dr.Vijaya V addressed the gathering and emphasizedthe importance of staying updated with recent trends in project writing and research methodology. The speakers elaborated on how students should approach project work systematically, focusing on clarity of objectives, proper data collection, analytical techniques,and effective presentation skills.
A special felicitation ceremony was conducted to honor the academic achievers of the department who had reached significant milestones in their scholarly journey.
The department proudly felicitated:
Ms. Damini – for successfully qualifying KSET and securing eligibility for Ph.D. admission.
Ms. Nidhi – for qualifying KSET and becoming eligible for Ph.D. admission.
Ms. Vijetha – for securing eligibility for Ph.D. admission.
Ms. Prathiksha Mendon– for achieving eligibility for Ph.D. admission.
The first session on project formulation was conducted by Prof. Keerthan, Research Scholar,NITK Surathkal. The session covered topics such as project area introduction, objectives of thestudy, and preparation of questionnaires. The moderator for the session was Dr. Saumya Pravin K, HOD Commerce, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal.
The second session on project foundation and literature review was conducted by Dr. Gunakar S, Retired Professor of Commerce, Pompei College, Aikala. The session provided valuable insights on project methodology and literature reviews. The moderator for the session was Prof. Dhanya Kumar Venkannavar, IQAC Coordinator, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal.
The third session on project results and reporting was conducted by Prof. Louis Manoj Ambrose, Assistant Professor of Commerce, MPM GFGC, Karkala. The session covered topics such as data analysis, interpretation, and conclusion. The moderator for the session was Dr.Shridevi, HOD BBA, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal.
The session was highly interactive, providing participants with practical insights into research design, academic writing, and project documentation.
The valedictory session of the one-day workshop commenced with a welcome speech delivered by Nishma of 1st M.Com, this was followed by the valedictory address delivered by Prof. Venkatesh Bhat, Principal of Vijaya College, Mulki. The Chief Guest, Sri Balakrishna K., Vice President of Hindu Vidhyadayini Sangha, Surathkal, distributed the Certificates for the Participants, The programme was presided over by Prof. Hareesha Acharya P., Principal Govinda dasa College Surathkal. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Pavithra of 2nd M.Com and the Master of Ceremony of this Programme Nidhi Adapa of 1st M.Com.
The workshop effectively provided valuable academic insights, encouraged research orientation among students, and motivated them to build strong foundations, apply knowledge effectively, and deliver impactful academic projects with confidence.

Undergraduate Students of Kateel College, Vijaya College, Misbha College,BBA and B.Com students of Govinda dasa college, 1st and 2nd M.Com students. Total Number of 213 students participated in this workshop.
