The NSS volunteers of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, actively participated in the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme in collaboration with the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Surathkal, from 28th June to 1st July 2026.
During the four-day programme, NSS volunteers rendered valuable service by assisting the health officials in conducting the Pulse Polio campaign across the Surathkal region. The volunteers helped in creating awareness among parents about the importance of polio immunization, guided beneficiaries to vaccination booths, maintained orderly queues, and supported the smooth implementation of the immunization drive.
The programme provided the volunteers with an opportunity to contribute to a significant public health initiative while strengthening their sense of social responsibility and community service. Their dedicated efforts complemented the work of the Primary Health Centre in ensuring wider community participation and the successful conduct of the Pulse Polio campaign.
