The Department of Library, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Govinda Dasa College, organised a session under the Pusthaka Preethi Parichaya Series on 28 August 2026. The programme aimed to cultivate a love for reading among students and encourage intellectual engagement through book discussions and reviews.
As part of the programme, Mr. Ajay S. K., a student of I B.B.A., presented an insightful review of the renowned Kannada book Gigiyuva Huli – Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose by Chikkeruru Dhirendrachar. His thoughtful presentation highlighted the life, ideals and contributions of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and captivated the audience. The review reflected the spirit of literary appreciation and critical thinking promoted through the series.
The programme was graced by the presence of the Principal, Prof. Hareesha Acharya P. Faculty members Dr. Shridevi, Dr. Pratheeksha, Mrs. Punith, Ms. Apeksha, Dr. Sudha U., Dr. Vijayalaxmi, Mrs. Akshatha, and Ms. Daya Suvarna, along with Librarian Dr. Sujatha B., attended the programme. A large number of enthusiastic students also participated in the session.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. Kevin, a student of I B.B.A. He also proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Principal, faculty members, students and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
The session concluded on a positive note, reinforcing the importance of reading, literary appreciation and critical thinking, while further strengthening the culture of reading among the students of Govinda Dasa College.
