The central government has decided to observe Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanthi as ‘Parakram Diwas’ to be celebrated on 23rd January .
Govinda Dasa College Library in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell celebrated the 125th birthday of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on 23rd Jan 2021.
The Dean of Humanities Department Prof. B.Y Kumar was the Resource Person for the function. Addressing the gathering he said that January 23rd marks the birthday of India’s greatest son who fought for its independence defying all odds, that is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, fondly remembered as ‘Netaji,’ continues to inspire millions of people even today with his sayings and thoughts. We all have grown up listening to people who talked about his bravery and his famous slogans like ‘Tum Mujhe Khoon Do, Mai Tumhe Azaadi Dunga” (Give me your blood, and I will give you freedom), “Freedom is not given, it has to be taken” and “Jai Hindh” which always managed to fill the youth with enormous energy. Netaji revamped the Indian National Army and fought against the British with all his energy and force and played an important role in the Indian freedom struggle movement.
The Principal, Prof. P. Krishnamurthy presided over the programme. Vice Principal Prof. Ramesh Bhat S.G and the IQAC Co-Ordinator Prof. Harish Acharya were present on the stage.
The Language Department Dean and Staff Secretary Prof. Marcel Louis Mascarenhas, Lecturers, Smt. Daya Suvarna, Capt. Sudha U Shetty, Dr. Ashalatha, Smt. Deepa Shetty, Smt. Rashmi Kayarmar and Dr. Karthik and all BA Students were present during this programme.
Librarian Smt. Savithri A. welcomed the gathering. Library Staff Chandrashekar K. mastered the ceremony and Smt. Ashwini Thokuru proposed the vote of thanks.
