Library is compared to the heart of an educational institution. It supports the needs and thirst of the users of the institution. The goal of an education institution is to support the teaching and research needs. The main objective of the user orientation is to introduce the library facilities, resources, services and library techniques to the users. The orientation programme makes the users familiarize with the resources and increases the use of libraries. On this purpose, Govinda Dasa College conducts a Library Orientation for fresher.
Two-phase library orientation was carried out for all the students. Primarily, lecture method with power point presentation was used for the orientation in the library. Secondly in order to make all the students familiar with the different section of the library and to give them hands-on practice on the OPAC, a library tour was organized.
