The NSS unit of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club, Surathkal, organized a special lecture programme on ‘Manava Hakkugalu matthu Mangalamukhiyaru’ (Human Rights and Transgenders) on April 11, 2024. The resource person, Ms. J. Nandapayas, a social worker, delivered a special lecture highlighting the importance of human rights and the lives of transgender individuals. She was honored for her notable achievements on this occasion.
During the event, Hitha Umesh and Vivek N. Shetty were recognized for their participation in the Republic Day Parade and Cultural programme in New Delhi. Additionally, a report on the activities conducted during the annual special camp was presented.
The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Ramesh Kulai. Prof. Krishnamoorthy P., the college principal, presided over the event and spoke about the significance of rights and their prudent use. He also extended his best wishes for the successful completion of the NSS annual special camp.
The event was graced by Mrs. Savithri Ramesh Bhat, President of the Inner Wheel Club, Surathkal, Vice Principal Prof. Ramesh Bhat, NSS unit officers Mrs. Akshata V. and Dr. Bhagyalaxmi M., members of the Inner Wheel Club, faculty members, and volunteers. Ms. Hitha Umesh, the NSS Secretary, narrated the programme.
