IQAC,HUMAN RIGHTS FORUM,HUMANITIES DEPARTMENT,CONSUMER RIGHTS AND MAHILA VEDIKE-2024

Human rights can empower individuals and communities to forge a better tomorrow. By embracing and trusting the full power of human rights as the path to the world we want, we can become more peaceful, equal and sustainable.  A lecture series on ‘Human Rights; Issues & Concerns’ was inaugurated  by Mullai Muhilan MP, the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District on the 30th of October 2024. In his inaugural address  he said that , Human Rights are universal rights guaranteed to all without any discrimination. Government ,society and citizens should work together to protect these rights. The youth has an important responsibility in creating a transparent and accountable governance as Fundamental Rights are the basic priorities of our constitution and their violation is considered an offence. He spoke on the topic ‘Role of Good Governance in Protection of  Human Rights’. The Deputy Commissioner also had an enthusiastic interactive session with students. The Programme was jointly organized by Human Rights Forum, Humanities Department, Consumer Rights Forum and Mahila vedike of the College. Jayachandra Hatwar, President of H. V Sangha,Surathkal was the Guest of Honour, and the program was presided by Principal, Prof Krishnamurthy P, College Administrative Director Prof. Gopal M. Gokhale welcomed the gathering .  Convenor of the Program and HOD of Political Science  Dr Ashalatha P, gave an insight of the series of lectures to be conducted under the forum.  Head of Humanities and Co-ordinator of IQAC. Prof . Hareesh Acharya delivered the vote of thanks.
