The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell, organized a session on “Managing Group Behaviour for Better Team Performance” on 26th March 2026 at 3.15 PM in the A.V. Hall.
The resource person for the session was Mrs. Divya Pereira, Assistant Professor at St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Institute of Management and IT (AIMIT). The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of teamwork and group dynamics in professional and academic settings.
Mrs. Divya Pereira began the session by explaining the concept of group behaviour and its importance in achieving organizational goals. She discussed how individuals behave differently in groups and how these behaviours influence team performance.
The speaker highlighted key aspects such as communication, leadership, cooperation, and conflict management. She explained the stages of group development and the roles individuals play within a team. Emphasis was placed on the importance of mutual respect, trust, and effective communication in building strong teams.
Through examples and activities, students were encouraged to understand how to handle conflicts, improve coordination, and contribute positively to team objectives. The session also focused on leadership qualities and how leaders can motivate and guide team members for better performance.
