On 18th September 2025 at 9:30 a.m., the Inauguration of the Students’ Senate and Fine Arts Association 2025–26 was held at Rangamandira, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal.
Dr. Arathi Shetty, Director, Shridevi Nrithya Kendra, Mangalore, was invited as the Inaugurator of the programme. She formally inaugurated the ceremony and motivated the senate members to aspire for greater heights.
Dr. Ramesh Bhat S G, Director–Administrator, GDC Surathkal, shared his visionary thoughts about the future of the college, emphasizing the active involvement of students in all activities, skill development, and academic progress.
The Presidential Remarks were delivered by Principal Prof. Hareesh Achary P, who elaborated on the college’s commitment to fostering art and culture while highlighting its achievements.
Dr. Sowmya Praveen K, SWO, administered the oath to the students, stressing the importance of upholding the dignity of the college.
The function was attended by Vice Principal Neelappa V, IQAC Co-ordinator Dhanyakumar Venkannavar, and the coordinators of the Fine Arts Association — Dr. Santhosh Alva, Kumar Madar, and Sharmitha U — along with Senate Secretaries, Joint Secretaries, Fine Arts Secretaries, faculty members, and students of GDC.
The programme was compered by Ms. Jyothika, III BCA. The formal function concluded with a vibrant cultural programme presented by the students.
