The NSS, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, celebrated World Environment Day on 5th June 2026 by organizing a sapling plantation programme on the college campus. The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage students to contribute towards a greener and more sustainable future.
On the occasion, Prof. Hareesh Acharya P., Principal of Govinda Dasa College, emphasized the importance of environmental conservation and urged students to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. As part of the programme, saplings were planted across the campus, symbolizing the institution’s commitment to protecting and preserving the environment.
The programme was attended by Prof. Neelappa V., Vice Principal, Dr. Sowmya Praveen K., Student Welfare Officer, Mrs. Akshatha V. and Dr. Bhagyalaxmi M., NSS Programme Officers, faculty members, and NSS volunteers. The event concluded with a pledge by the volunteers to safeguard nature and actively participate in environmental conservation initiatives.
