The Department of Commerce and Business Administration, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, organized an Orientation Programme on Chartered Accountancy (CA) on 4 August 2026 in the AV Hall for first and second-year B.Com and BBA students. The programme aimed to create awareness about the Chartered Accountancy profession, its academic structure, career opportunities, and the growing demand for qualified Chartered Accountants in India and abroad.
The programme was graced by Prof. Hareesha Acharya, Principal; Dr. Sowmya Praveen, Head of the Department of Commerce; Dr. Shridevi, Head of the Department of BBA; Mrs. Mrudula, Administrative Officer, Hindu Vidyadayinee Sangha; Dhanyakumar Venkannavar, IQAC Coordinator; and Dr. Pratheeksha, Coordinator of the Commerce and Business Administration Association. Their presence added significance to the event and encouraged students to explore professional career pathways.
The resource persons, CA Jason Castelino, Director, KVC, and CA Nandan Rao, Teaching Faculty, KVC, delivered insightful sessions on the CA course structure, eligibility criteria, examination pattern, articleship training, and the vast career opportunities available in accounting, auditing, taxation, finance, and consultancy. They also shared practical experiences and guided students on effective preparation strategies, motivating them to pursue the CA qualification with confidence and dedication.
The session concluded with an engaging interaction where students clarified their queries regarding the course and career prospects. The programme ended with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, dignitaries, resource persons, faculty members, and students for their active participation. The orientation proved to be highly informative and inspiring, encouraging students to consider Chartered Accountancy as a prestigious and rewarding professional career.
