COMMERCE AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION 2026–27

The Commerce and Business Administration Association of Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, inaugurated its activities for the academic year 2026–27 on 1st September 2026 at 2:30 PM at the AV Hall. The programme was organised for the students of the 2nd and 3rd year B.Com and BBA programmes, with 175 students participating.

The programme was presided over by Prof. Hareesha Acharya P., Principal, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal. The dignitaries present included Dr. Sowmya Praveen, HOD of Commerce; Dr. Shridevi, HOD of BBA; Dr. Pratheeksha, Coordinator of the Commerce and Business Administration Association; and Mrs. Punitha R., Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell.

As part of the inauguration, a special guest talk on “Commerce & Business Beyond Boundaries” was delivered by Ms. Komal S. Prabhu, Managing Partner and Co-founder of Maharaj Group of Hotels. She shared valuable insights from her professional experience and discussed the changing business environment, entrepreneurship, opportunities in the service sector and the importance of developing practical skills beyond academic knowledge. She encouraged students to think innovatively, identify emerging opportunities and build the confidence required to succeed in the competitive business environment.

The inauguration marked the commencement of various activities of the Commerce and Business Administration Association for the academic year 2026–27. These activities are aimed at providing students with opportunities for experiential learning, leadership development, creativity, communication and professional development.

The programme also included the felicitation of meritorious and accomplished students in recognition of their achievements. Harshitha Bhandary, Shreya L. Puthran, Kushi Kotian and Aishwarya were felicitated on the occasion. The felicitation served as an encouragement for students to continue striving for excellence and to inspire their peers through their achievements.

In his presidential remarks, Prof. Hareesha Acharya P. appreciated the efforts of the Department and the Association in organising meaningful academic and co-curricular activities. He highlighted the importance of combining academic knowledge with practical exposure, communication skills, leadership qualities and entrepreneurial thinking. He encouraged students to actively participate in the Association’s activities and make effective use of the opportunities provided by the institution for their overall development.

The programme concluded on a positive note, with the presence and support of the Heads of Departments and coordinators adding significance to the occasion. The inauguration reflected the institution’s commitment to promoting holistic student development, professional competence, entrepreneurial thinking and experiential learning among students.
