The Department of PG Studies in Commerce and Chemistry, Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal, organised “Illuminate – Fresher’s Day Celebration” on 25th September 2026 at the AV Hall. The programme was organised by the senior students to warmly welcome the newly joined students and provide them with a friendly and positive beginning to their college journey.
The programme was inaugurated by Ms. Vaibhavi, Assistant Professor, School of Commerce, Finance & Accountancy, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru. Prof. Ramesh Bhat S. G., Director – Administration, was the Guest of Honour, and Prof. Hareesha Acharya P., Principal, Govinda Dasa College, presided over the programme. Mr. P. V. Girish, Management Representative, was also present.
The celebration featured fun-filled games, music, dance and interactive activities, encouraging active participation and interaction between senior and junior students. The programme helped the freshers overcome their initial hesitation, build friendships and develop a sense of belonging to the institution.
The event concluded on a joyful note, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere and leaving the freshers with memorable experiences of their first celebration at Govinda Dasa College.
