The programme was organized by the Department of Commerce & Business Administration in association with Mangalore University Commerce Teachers’ Association ® (MUCTA) at Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal.
The Main agenda behind the program “Investor Awareness Program” was to enhance the knowledge of students from all the under-graduate courses on financial literacy and personal investment planning.
Prof.Ramesh Kulai, Prof. P. Krishnamoorthy, along with the chief guest Prof. Louis Manoj Ambrose inaugurated the Investment awareness program by lighting the lamp. Dr. Sowmya Praveen K, HOD of Commerce and Ms. Shridevi, HOD of Business Administration were present in the program.
In his inaugural speech Prof. Ramesh Kulai sir spoke on the relevance of investment on mutual funds and SEP.
The chief guest Prof. Louis Manoj Ambrose gave importance of the investing and investment program to the students from all the under-graduation courses. Prof. P. Krishnamoorthy sir gave the presidential remark on the program and wished for the success of the program.
The first session was by Mr. Naveen Rego and the session started at 10.20 am. In his talk, sir informed about the stock market, investing wisely in the stock markets. Sir also spoke about alternatives available to invest money and the real estate business to get higher returns.
The second session was by Mr. Leo Amal A and the session was started at 11.30am. Sir spoke on the topic ‘Back to Basics’ and gave information on the basics of investment. Sir also informed about the modes of investing, inflation and the importance of time in life.
The final session was by Mr. Ynonil D’Souza and the session was started at 1.45 pm. Sir spoke about the personal investment planning. The session included the information about personal finance, pseudo investors, need for investing – its benefits and associated risks, concept of debt and equity, mutual funds, emergency funds and retirement funds.
