The Youth Red Cross (YRC) unit of the college organized an orientation programme for its YRC volunteers on September 16, 2026. All registered YRC members actively participated in the event held at AV Hall.
Ms. Deekshitha T.S., the YRC Programme Officer of Besant Women’s College, Kodialbail, served as the chief resource person. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized that the Red Cross Wing plays a vital role in promoting humanitarian values, fostering respect among individuals, and instilling a collaborative spirit to solve societal challenges. She further highlighted the wing’s mission to create widespread awareness about offering timely assistance during public emergencies.
The Principal, Prof. Hareesha Acharya P., presided over the orientation programme. YRC Wing Officers Dr. Sowmya Praveen K. and Mrs. Babitha Naveenchandra were also present on the dais.
The formal program commenced with a welcome address by YRC volunteer Ms. Anjali. Fellow YRC volunteer Ms. Shradha delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guests and organizers. Ms. Princitha efficiently compered the ceremony as the master of events.
A total of 75 YRC volunteers attended the session, gaining valuable insights into the history, core values, and diverse activities of the Red Cross organization.
