The Grantha Mithra project, initiated by the Akanksha Charitable Trust with support from the Rural Development, Panchayat Raj and the National Service Scheme, aims to create a dynamic learning environment in libraries that fosters various aspects of personal and professional development for students. This initiative seeks to introduce students and volunteers to the grama panchayat libraries, making these libraries more student-friendly.
The program offers a wide range of activities spread over 32 weeks. These include team-building exercises to promote collaboration, language activities to enhance Kannada proficiency, logical reasoning challenges to sharpen problem-solving skills, and mathematics sessions covering foundational concepts and Vedic Math principles. Additionally, the project incorporates arts and crafts activities to nurture artistic development, as well as English practice and communication exercises aimed at improving fluency and boosting confidence.
NSS volunteers from Govinda Dasa College, Surathkal participated in the Grantha Mithra programme at Chelairu Grama Panchayath High School on August 5, 2023. The volunteers taught numeric series, alphabetic series, and alphanumeric series to the school students. Sixteen students took part in this programme.
On August 12, 2023, NSS volunteers organized the Grantha Mithra programme at Chelairu Grama Panchayath High School. During the event, volunteers taught the school students how to find the squares and cubes of numbers. Twenty students participated in the programme.
On August 19, 2023, NSS volunteers organized the Grantha Mithra programme at Chelairu Grama Panchayath High School. To improve vocabulary, the students were given letters to create as many words as possible, and they were also taught various mind games. Sixteen students participated in the programme.
On September 2, 2023, NSS volunteers organized the Grantha Mithra program at Chelairu Grama Panchayath High School. The students learned about LCM and HCF through various illustrations and engaged in different mind games. A total of 17 students participated in the programme.
On September 9, 2023, NSS volunteers organized the Grantha Mithra program at Chelairu Grama Panchayath High School. The students participated in a revision test and learned word-building skills. A total of 18 students took part in the programme.
On November 11, 2023, NSS volunteers organized the Grantha Mithra program at Chelairu Grama Panchayath High School. This session provided a refreshing break between their full-day classes. A total of 17 students participated in the programme.
